  • Stationed with Marine Corps Base Camp Butler's Communication and Information Services Division, Telephone Service Branch as the Inside Plant Chief and Site Supervisor for the Camp Foster End Office and Camp Courtney Multi-Function Switch. At the end of this tour I was recognized with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. During this assignment I was responsible for such projects as switchboard expansions, upgrades, installations and inspections. I oversaw the maintenance of the fixed plant power system and managed the replacement of system backup batteries. I was responsible for the daily supervision of both Marines and Japanese civilians.
